How it works

It walks the repertoire from the first move
Every position gets a running chance of ever being reached, starting at a certainty of one at the opening position.

Your moves are free, the opponent's are not
When the next move is yours, the chance passes straight through. When it is the opponent's, it is multiplied by how often that move actually appears in real games. A reply played in one game out of fifty divides the odds by fifty.

Every position ends up with a number
By the end of the scan each saved position carries an honest answer to one question: how likely am I to ever see this on the board? A move buried behind three unlikely opponent choices scores very low, even if each of those choices seemed reasonable on its own.

You are told the cost before anything happens
Before removing anything, the app shows what share of the saved opponent moves in that repertoire the trim would take out. A cut that removes a third of your work is a decision, not housekeeping.

There is also a plain depth trim, which cuts every line past a move number you choose. That one is arithmetic rather than analysis, and it works offline.
What it will not do
- Rarity is not the same as harmlessness. A move that almost never appears can still be the one that beats you, and the app cannot know which of those you care about.
- It works on opponent moves. It will not remove your own choices, because those are the repertoire.
- On a repertoire you built yourself, move by move, there is usually very little for it to find. It earns its keep on imports.
